Someone's autumn is another one's spring

It feels like a headstand
to think of spring
now that everything here is
turning yellow and orange
and dropping off

Not that easy to comprehend
things are shooting out
of the ground, turning
green and flowery and
unfolding down south

  1. Yes, it does feel strange when people in the other hemisphere are writing about weather just the opposite of what one is experiencing. Nice write; thanks for joining in.

  2. That's how I feel after reading Rosemary's poem about Irises. I love the headstand description.

  3. There is an inspiring Sanskrit couplet that teaches us to welcome happiness when it arrives and accept sorrow with equal grace. Joy and sorrow continually turn and return, like the spokes of a wheel.
    In Sanskrit:
    सुखमापतितं सेव्यं दुःखमापतितं तथा।
    चक्रवत् परिवर्तन्ते दुःखानि च सुखानि च॥
    Transliteration:
Sukham āpatitaṃ sevyaṃ duḥkham āpatitaṃ tathā,
Cakravat parivartante duḥkhāni ca sukhāni ca

  4. Haha ... very nice headstand analogy, from someone on the underside of Rosemary's Spring.
