A story of numbness

The numbness began with the apartment.
It turned into numbness between us within a few months.
Now she has become so numb she never leaves anymore.
And I’m hardly ever there.

– Leonard Blumfeld

Written for 3WW using today's 3 words: apartment – began – numb.

Physical closeness leading to emotional detachment. Nicely written. Hopefully fictional and not autobiographical.

Apartments begeting numb relationships seems to be a trend with this week's 3WW. Neat and succinct and too often true.

I like the way you moved out of the apartment into her life, then yours. From the root to life.

I feel like what I wanted to say was taken by everyone else. I agree with Paisley, if they weren't too attached it might work. And PJD really hit it with the fact that sometimes, being closer together physically leads to being further apart emotionally.
